Why enroll in a calligraphy course?
Modern calligraphy offers a contemporary and personalised take on the traditional art form. It bridges the gap between ancient practices and the present day, making it accessible to anyone. Most of my students join the classes to improve their handwriting - to be able to personalise their greeting cards or even work on their own wedding stationery. Additionally, engaging in calligraphy can offer a calming and mindful experience, providing a much-needed escape from the fast-paced demands of everyday life.
What will we learn in this workshop?
Before dipping our pens in ink, we will focus on our position, grip and posture - which are the three essential foundations of calligraphy. We will then spend the initial hour mastering the basic brush strokes, before progressing to crafting numbers and letters, working our way through the alphabet.

The workshop takes place at the boutique in London, located at Clifford Street, 3 London W1S 2LF, United Kingdom, with a duration of 3 hours (2 hours of full immersion + 1 optional hour for a boutique tour and related explanation).

This class is open to everyone and is ideal for those who are new to calligraphy or seeking to refine their skills. Graphic designers, illustrators, creative entrepreneurs, and social media enthusiasts alike will take many valuable insights away from the class.
What does the calligraphy course include?
By purchasing our course, you will also receive a special kit to make the most of this workshop. The kit will consist of 4 bottles of ink in different colors, 1 straw, 1 nib, and 1 converter. All of this will be presented in an elegant Pineider box.
How much does the workshop cost?
The price of the workshop and the starter kit is £120 including VAT.
When will I receive my starter kit?
The starter kit will be handed out to all participants on the day of the workshop.
Which topics will we cover?
During the course, we will delve into the historical aspects of calligraphy and observe how traditional scripts continue to influence various forms of modern calligraphy. We will also explore diverse letter design techniques and practice creating a complete alphabet as a practical example.

Michela, the creator behind The Dandelion Art, grew up in Rome and has been living in London since 2012.
Her inquisitive and imaginative nature flourished and branched out into different arts overtime, with calligraphy being one of them.
She has been running brush calligraphy workshops in London since 2018 and has been studying heraldic art and illumination for the last three years.
